Artemisia – The Swagginest Home in Los Feliz
|July 19, 2012||Posted by Matt under Craftsman, Los Feliz, Modern, Real Estate|
That’s right I said it. Swagginest. I’m 95% sure of this claim (margin of error at 5%… meaning, I essentially think I’m 100% correct but I’m trying to say that in the most modest way possible). And really, at over $11 million, 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and enough crap to write an essay on – well, I just don’t think I can be wrong in my claim. Hop along the junction, I’ll show you what’s up.
Oh did I mention the house has a name. A freaking name. Not like “The Wayne Estate” (oh yeah, go see the new Batman flick). No, like the way you name your car. Yeah, the name of this home is Artemisia. I named my second car Artemis. Seriously, she loved that name, it’s after the Greek goddess of wisdom.
Anyways, Artemesia is arguably the best Craftsman house ever built. Yes, ever. And no, none of this is hyperbole so stop and just read. It features a unique English Arts and Crafts interior, nearly two acres of wooded grounds with waterfalls, the second-largest pipe organ in the country, amazing views to the ocean from most rooms, and a 2,000 square foot ballroom.
This secret celebrity enclave is located on a gated private street in the Hollywood Hills, just above Paramount Studios and the W Hotel. Only two or three ultimate bungalows were ever built over 5,000 sf. At 13,290 square feet plus guest house, Artemesia is the largest Craftsman residence in the U. S. Constructed in 1913 as the family residence of the largest builder west of Chicago, no expense was spared nor corner cut. Obvi.
A 25 year long restoration project has just been completed in time for the house’s 100th anniversary. The entire double-gated property has been lovingly preserved, restored and updated including modern HVAC, upgraded systems, security detection, computer networking and video, and a remodeled kitchen.
Pure, uncut, unadulterated, A+ grade swag. Just marvelous. Enjoy!
As always, feel free to answer, comment, ask questions or just ramble.
Stay awesome L.A.
