Two Homes Enter, One Home Wins
| September 7, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Architecture & Decor, Hollywood Hills East, Los Angeles, Mid-Century, Real Estate |
Let’s get ready to RUMBLE! In the ring, we have two contenders from the Hollywood Hills East area (90068). Which will be the new champion of the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom weight class? You decide!
3214 Ledgewood Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90068
$995,000
1,920 sq. ft.

Here, we have an open Mid-Century residence filled with natural light. The living room fireplace is hot (and so is that kidney-shaped couch).
Cool Live/Work Space
| September 2, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Architecture & Decor, Glassell Park, Los Angeles, Real Estate |

Wait! I know what you’re gonna say, “That’s not a residential property. That’s a water tank.” But it is a residential property! (Zoned R-2, two-family residential, in Glassell Park). It was recently re-designed by Architect Tony Unruh–who, in my humble opinion, has done some pretty cool projects.

This place is a perfect habitat for the “live/work situation.” (Especially for you creative types out there.)

The ample workspace is currently being used as a recording studio.
Los Feliz Mid-Century Revisited
| September 1, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Hollywood Hills East, Los Angeles, Los Feliz, Mid-Century, Real Estate |

Hey, remember this place? We posted about it in February here. It hasn’t sold, but now it’s back on the market with a lower listing price, new agent, and some better pictures. Shall we take another look?

Fireplace, vaulted ceilings, open airy space–good, good.

A wall of windows with views–also good.

Not sure about the candy-apple cabinets, but lots of people appreciate bar seating in the kitchen.
Los Feliz Spanish Colonial
| August 16, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Franklin Hills, Los Angeles, Los Feliz, Real Estate, Spanish |

This is a fantastic Spanish Colonial home for sale, in Los Feliz, on Ben Lomond Place. (For some reason, Ben Lomond always reminds me of that old Scottish ditty, Loch Lomond. Let’s play the Word Association Game! Loch Lomond will start us out. You’re next, put your answer in the comments section.)

The sunken living room features a barrel ceiling, fireplace, original casement windows, and views.

The formal dining room leads to the fully updated chef’s kitchen.
Cedar Lodge in Larchmont Village
| August 15, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Architecture & Decor, Hancock Park, Los Angeles, Real Estate |

Here’s a unique find in Larchmont Village! This cedar lodge was designed and built by Adriana Caselotti. You may know her as the voice of Disney’s original Snow White.

I find it hard to believe that she built it all by herself. I bet she had a little help from all those dwarfs she kept around. What were their names? Sloppy, Dumpy, Sleazy, Crabby, Jaime, Rudy, and Blitzen–yeah, that’s right.
