Attention Artsy Folk
| November 16, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Architecture & Decor, Contemporary, Los Feliz, Mid-Century, Modern, Most Searched, New Listing, Real Estate |
Today we look at this Los Feliz Architecturally inspired Mid-Century Modern masterpiece. Only artsy creative types are allowed beyond this point.
The warm blend of wood & steel combined here with imaginative landscapes of the outside views, yard fountains and natural light, creating an incredibly inviting inside/outside vibe. Characteristic of mid-century modern architecture, the raised ceilings, off keel roofing, big steel windows and access to the outside seems to tear down the boundaries between the natural and the man-made.
Los Feliz Mid-Century Revisited
| September 1, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Hollywood Hills East, Los Angeles, Los Feliz, Mid-Century, Real Estate |

Hey, remember this place? We posted about it in February here. It hasn’t sold, but now it’s back on the market with a lower listing price, new agent, and some better pictures. Shall we take another look?

Fireplace, vaulted ceilings, open airy space–good, good.

A wall of windows with views–also good.

Not sure about the candy-apple cabinets, but lots of people appreciate bar seating in the kitchen.

This is a fantastic Spanish Colonial home for sale, in Los Feliz, on Ben Lomond Place. (For some reason, Ben Lomond always reminds me of that old Scottish ditty, Loch Lomond. Let’s play the Word Association Game! Loch Lomond will start us out. You’re next, put your answer in the comments section.)

The sunken living room features a barrel ceiling, fireplace, original casement windows, and views.

The formal dining room leads to the fully updated chef’s kitchen.
Los Feliz Post and Beam Modern

Question: How much wood would Wally Woodchuck chuck if Wally Woodchuck was willing to chuck wood for a worthy wage?
Answer: Enough to build this house!
This Los Feliz post and beam is full of rich, woody wood. From the exterior mahogany vertical panels.

To the walnut kitchen cupboards.

And the redwood tongue and groove paneling.

There are three bedrooms on the main floor, with original built-ins and ample closets.
