Los Feliz Mid-Century Revisited
| September 1, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Hollywood Hills East, Los Angeles, Los Feliz, Mid-Century, Real Estate |

Hey, remember this place? We posted about it in February here. It hasn’t sold, but now it’s back on the market with a lower listing price, new agent, and some better pictures. Shall we take another look?

Fireplace, vaulted ceilings, open airy space–good, good.

A wall of windows with views–also good.

Not sure about the candy-apple cabinets, but lots of people appreciate bar seating in the kitchen.
Mid-Century on Silver Lake
| August 26, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Architecture & Decor, Los Angeles, Mid-Century, Real Estate, Silver Lake |

It’s a fantastic Friday, here in LA (as usual)! Let’s take a look at a fantastic property!

This is “The Jenkyns House,” by Architect Josef Van der Kar, located in Silver Lake.

It has all of the best Mid-Century elements–walls of glass, exposed posts & beams, floating staircases, blah, blah, blah.

Not only is this house fine, but it’s in a great location perched above the reservoir. Expansive decks, on both living levels, offer fantastic Silver Lake views.
Los Feliz Post and Beam Modern

Question: How much wood would Wally Woodchuck chuck if Wally Woodchuck was willing to chuck wood for a worthy wage?
Answer: Enough to build this house!
This Los Feliz post and beam is full of rich, woody wood. From the exterior mahogany vertical panels.

To the walnut kitchen cupboards.

And the redwood tongue and groove paneling.

There are three bedrooms on the main floor, with original built-ins and ample closets.

In total, there are 3 bedrooms, 2 of which open to a second deck with tree-top views.
