Cool Live/Work Space
| September 2, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Architecture & Decor, Glassell Park, Los Angeles, Real Estate |

Wait! I know what you’re gonna say, “That’s not a residential property. That’s a water tank.” But it is a residential property! (Zoned R-2, two-family residential, in Glassell Park). It was recently re-designed by Architect Tony Unruh–who, in my humble opinion, has done some pretty cool projects.

This place is a perfect habitat for the “live/work situation.” (Especially for you creative types out there.)

The ample workspace is currently being used as a recording studio.
Mid-Century on Silver Lake
| August 26, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Architecture & Decor, Los Angeles, Mid-Century, Real Estate, Silver Lake |

It’s a fantastic Friday, here in LA (as usual)! Let’s take a look at a fantastic property!

This is “The Jenkyns House,” by Architect Josef Van der Kar, located in Silver Lake.

It has all of the best Mid-Century elements–walls of glass, exposed posts & beams, floating staircases, blah, blah, blah.

Not only is this house fine, but it’s in a great location perched above the reservoir. Expansive decks, on both living levels, offer fantastic Silver Lake views.
Cedar Lodge in Larchmont Village

Here’s a unique find in Larchmont Village! This cedar lodge was designed and built by Adriana Caselotti. You may know her as the voice of Disney’s original Snow White.

I find it hard to believe that she built it all by herself. I bet she had a little help from all those dwarfs she kept around. What were their names? Sloppy, Dumpy, Sleazy, Crabby, Jaime, Rudy, and Blitzen–yeah, that’s right.
Silver Lake Apartment Building

Lookie here! This is a fantastic income property now available in Silver Lake.

In this stylish, mid-century complex, there are 6 units with 1 bedroom and 1 bath each. The current annual income is $89,376.

As they always say, “Location, location, location.” This complex is situated conveniently near all that Silver Lake has to offer–Sunset Junction, the dog park/reservoir, shops, restaurants, “the stairs,” etc.
Baxter Street in Echo Park
| August 3, 2011 | Posted by Matt under Echo Park, Los Angeles, Real Estate |

Here’s a cute, colorful gem in Echo Park. This 2 bedroom, 1 bath is set on a fenced corner lot close to Sunset Boulevard, Downtown LA, Elysian Park, and Silver Lake.

Throughout the home, you’ll find this really cool Douglas Fir Parquet flooring.

There are custom walnut cabinets in the kitchen and matching built-ins in the living/dining room for media/buffet storage.
